Steve Erle possesses an innate ability to put his subjects at ease, decisively guiding those in front of his lens, disclosing a side privy only to trusted confidants. He captures images with insight and maturity.

Displaying immense promise while attending The School of Visual Arts, Steve Erle was plucked by fashion photographer Barbra Walz to assist her full time. Steve then honed his skills as he traveled the world assisting for legends Bill King, Bert Stern, Deborah Turbeville, David Seidner, Robert Erdman, Eric Boman and Francesco Scavullo. Through his own practice Steve Erle learned how to connect with those in front of his camera and sculpt his subjects with light. As a result, he is one of only a few photographers in the world to have shot the cover of nine Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues.
