In Exposure², the work of Steve Erle and Pete Black seamlessly combine two opposing bodies of work that emerge gracefully into one. This exhibition includes both Steve Erle’s and Pete Black’s documentary style images of Rock and Fashion’s elite.
Steve Erle’s work explores a similar subject matter through an opposing perspective. While Erle’s photographs feel recognizable; his focus has been mainly commercial; producing polished editorial campaigns and stunning portraiture. His images are rich in art direction and compositions, glowing, playful and sensual. Beautifully sharp and colorful imagery include rarely seen photographs of Dita Von Teese, Aerosmith, Christina Hendricks, Emma Stone, and Sofia Vegara.
Grainy, intimate and revealing, Pete Black’s snapshots expose stories of larger than life individuals and the relationship he has formed with them. Included in the presentation are never before published photos of Dior’s famed designer John Galliano, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Christy Turlington, and Gavin Rossdale. These images assist us in the comprehension of what makes celebrity; creating an understanding of the importance of iconic individuals in pop culture.
This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to witness the shared interest and passions of two photographers whose work, vision and point of view are as individual and multi-layered as they are as men, but come together under the common interest of capturing the sublime.
Exhibition runs for one night only, Thursday June 28th, 2012, 6-10pm. @ Siren Studios, 6063 W. Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90028. firstname.lastname@example.org
