Los Angeles based artist, Mark Bradford and Getty Museum introduce the new online art eduction program offered to art educators called Open Studio. The program functions as a dual effort to bring contemporary artists into building new foundations for teaching art, and bring new art programs to schools and institutions. Open Studio is formed in multitudes of mediums and theories, from photographic stories to exploring color through ones environment. Each lesson provides a free downloadable PDF that includes an artmaking prompt, an artist biography, and images of the artist and works of art by the artist.

The program is collaborated with ten other contemporary artists Jon Cattapan, Graciela Iturbide, Michael Joo, Kerry James Marshall, Catherine Opie, Amy Silman, Kara Walker, Carrie Mae Weems, and Xu Bing. Each artists provides a lesson that features a study of their medium and a development of exploration and expression. The program is developed into three levels and meets all national and California visual arts content standards.
